Principle 10 states:
“Our only animosity towards Christianity, or toward any other religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be “the only way,” and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practice and belief.”
Wicca challenges the belief that a single religion should hold control over societal norms, institutions, and even the spiritual lives of others. This form of exclusivity has, at times, led to the suppression of alternative faiths and spiritual practices, hindering the natural diversity of belief systems.
Wicca stands in gentle contrast to such approaches. As a tradition rooted in respect for individuality and the sanctity of personal choice, we do not seek to impose our beliefs on others. Our path is one of quiet reverence, practiced freely by those who feel drawn to its teachings. We believe that spirituality is not a matter of persuasion but of personal connection—an intimate journey that cannot be dictated by external forces.
In choosing not to proselytize, we embody the principle of mutual respect. Wicca’s openness invites individuals to explore and grow without pressure, fostering an environment where curiosity and understanding flourish. Our commitment to this ethos reflects our broader vision of a harmonious and inclusive spiritual community.
By embracing diversity and rejecting domination, Wiccans affirm that spiritual enlightenment is as unique as the individuals who seek it. We celebrate all paths that honor freedom and respect for others, trusting that the sacred reveals itself in infinite ways.
